Mettle closed or froze your business account: what its terms say
As of October 9, 2026, these are Mettle’s own words on closing accounts: the notice it gives, the reasons it names and where a complaint can go next.
Notice before closing
We can close your account at any time as long as we give you at least 90 days’ notice.
Reasons it names for closing or suspending an account
We can also close your account immediately if: • we reasonably suspect that you’ve given us false information when you opened your account; • we reasonably suspect that your account (or any other account you hold with us) has been used, is being used or is likely to be used for an illegal purpose;
Complaints and where to go next
If for some reason we haven't been able to resolve your complaint within eight weeks, or you receive a final response letter from us and aren't satisfied with the resolution, you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
These are the provider’s published terms, not legal advice. Your own agreement and the law where your company is may give you more.
