NatWest closed or froze your business account: what its terms say
As of October 9, 2026, these are NatWest’s own words on closing accounts: the notice it gives, the reasons it names and where a complaint can go next.
Notice before closing
We can close your account by: • giving you at least 90 days’ notice; and • telling you our reason for closing your account.
Reasons it names for closing or suspending an account
We may close your account on less notice (including immediately) and we may not tell you our reason for closing your account, if: • we can’t complete the checks we need to carry out to understand our relationship with you including how you’re using your account;
Complaints and where to go next
If for some reason we haven't been able to resolve your complaint within eight weeks, or you're not satisfied with the resolution you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
These are the provider’s published terms, not legal advice. Your own agreement and the law where your company is may give you more.
