Swedbank closed or froze your business account: what its terms say
As of October 16, 2026, these are Swedbank’s own words on closing accounts: the notice it gives, the reasons it names and where a complaint can go next.
Notice before closing
9.1. The Bank may unilaterally terminate the Agreement immediately for good cause (extraordinary termination). The Bank may terminate the Agreement ordinarily and/or extraordinarily by notice of cancellation on the terms and conditions set out in the Agreement, unless such notice of cancellation is restricted by applicable legislation.
Reasons it names for closing or suspending an account
9.2. A good cause is, in particular, when: 9.2.1. the Bank suspects the Client or a Related Person of money laundering or terrorist financing; 9.2.2. the Client or any Related Person connected with the Client fails to provide accurate, complete and/or true information to the Bank Group for the purposes of identification;
Complaints and where to go next
10.2.6. If the Parties fail to reach an agreement, the Client shall be entitled to have recourse to extrajudicial institutions indicated in the Procedure for Handling Client's Complaints in order to have the dispute settled and/or request an impartial second opinion.
These are the provider’s published terms, not legal advice. Your own agreement and the law where your company is may give you more.
